On February 4 and 5, 2020 Professors World Peace Academy, USA, together with the Universal Peace Federation and the Hyo Jeong Academy for the Arts and Sciences convened the four-part World Peace Academic Conference 2020 in Seoul, Korea.
Section 1 was for Physical and Natural Science, Section 2 for Political and Social Science, 3 for Religious and Theological scholarship, and Section 4 for Higher Education and University Presidents and administration.
All sections had fours hours of meeting time over the course of two days, comprising presentations from prepared papers, moderated panels, and question and answer segments open to participants.
Speakers of special note, presenting in prominent parts of the schedule included Drs.: Sun-Jin Moon, Modadugu Vinjay Gupta, Marc Vogelaar, and Chan-Yul Lee.
The Natural Sciences section had themes on The Unity of Knowledge, Science, and Values. The Political Sciences section discussed The End of Communism, Regional Perspectives on Peace, and Economic, and Legal elements for peace, respectively. The Theology and Religion section examines such issues as Interfaith, Debate, and Dialogue, the concept of God as Parent, Reverend Moon’s impact on 20th Century religion, Religion in the Pacific Rim, and others. Mr. Greg Breland managed the Natural Science section, Dr. Thomas Ward the Political Science Section, and Dr. Frank Kaufmann the Religious studies section.
The section on World University Presidents was handled under its own directorship by Dr. Sun Jo Hwang .
The conference quickly earned significant word of mouth recognition throughout the concurrent Summit, in which the 3000 international participants came to learn of the strong intellectual and open, scintillating environment of dialogue and engaged and progressive thought.
At the very end of these meetings, all gathered joined as signatories to inaugurate the IAAP (International Association of Academics for Peace).
